Charlotte Wiin Havsteen is the head of Defence Center for Operational Oceanography (FCOO), which is part of the Danish Defence Acquisition and Logistics Organization. Its primary responsibility is to support the Danish Defence with high quality oceanographic, meteorological and hydrographic information.

Charlotte Wiin Havsteen will present FCOO’s tasks and activities both in Denmark, in Greenland and in international operations and exercises. The Ministry of Defence works with Arctic Analysis, which includes a trials and testing programme. FCOO is also contact point for meteorology, hydrography and remote sensing. The data collection programme develops decision making tools for the other parts of the Danish Defence. FCOO applies a dual-use principle where the data and products can be used both for civil and military purposes.
