Herbert Njuabe Mbufong has investigated the environmental controls on carbon dioxide (CO2) fluxes across heterogeneous Arctic ecosystems. The Arctic is very sensitive to climatic and environmental perturbations. Complex feedback mechanisms only exacerbate Arctic climate change impacts on the global climate. An understanding of the climatic and environmental controls on greenhouse gases is of dire importance to our understanding and prediction of future climate change.
