After the Fjord gradient campaign, we flew by helicopter to the inland icecap. Our projects were part of a larger cooperation aiming to describe linkages between diversity, complexity and ecosystem carbon exchange. The overall experimental design consisted of two sites (one close to the inland ice and one further from the ice, corresponding to young and more well-established vegetation, respectively). We collected insects in five selected plotgroups at each site, using the same methods as described above. The target organisms were the same and the project design can be linked to the above mentioned, with a full distribution model of the Godthaabsfjord area in mind.
