What do we know of these pathways and their sources? I will take you on a tour with the freshwater from Fram Strait to the Baffin Bay using hydrographic observations from different national (Greenland) and international monitoring-research programs. During the transit a question will be raised if the so called water mass referred to as Polar Surface Water have a southern limit. We terminate the pathway in Baffin Bay where Baffin Bay Polar Surface Water rules. Finally we focus on the freshwater source of a well-studied west Greenland fjord in direct contact with the Greenland Ice Sheet for some closing remarks.
