KONG OSCAR FJORD - discovering North-East Greenland

New publication by Peter Schmidt Mikkelsen

In KONG OSCAR FJORD, for the first time ever, we get a richly illustrated impression of the various areas, fjords, landscapes, and settlements in the mighty and magnificent Kong Oscar Fjord region between 72 and 73 degrees north of Greenland's east coast. An area that covers a total of 25,000 km2 in the southernmost part of the large North-East Greenland National Park.

The North-East Greenland National Park exudes a completely unique untouched beauty and grandeur. The area also contains a unique history that in several areas has had a decisive influence on the situation today, not only locally and for Greenland, but also for the entire realm and even globally.

KONG OSCAR FJORD is the first book in a new book series with the joint title: "Discovering North-East Greenland". The book is 151 pages, beautifully bound and is packed with more than 250 beautiful photos. The texts are in Danish and English.

Peter Schmidt Mikkelsen is a former member of the renowned military dogsledge patrol Sirius, director of the North-East Greenland Company Nanok and author of a number of books about Greenland. He has traveled the Kong Oscar Fjord area and the rest of North-East Greenland numerous times over more than 40 years.
