Arctic autumn semester 2020

The Arctic Science Study Programme (ASSP) courses offered in Nuuk give your education an Arctic angle and provide you with first-hand experience of working in and with the climate, environment and communities of the Arctic. Together with the Greenland Institute of Natural Resources (GINR), ARC offers five Arctic courses focusing on climate in the spring semester, and five courses in the fall semester from ARC/GINR and one course from University of Copenhagen. All courses are on graduate level.

During the autumn semester, ARC at Aarhus University, University of Copenhagen and Aalborg University team up with the Greenland Institute of Natural Resources to offer two semester packages with six courses on environmental contaminants in the Arctic, Arctic environmental management and effects in the Arctic society. All courses are graduate level and you can read about the courses at GCRC homepage.

AU offers four of the Arctic courses in the autumn semester and they are:

Contaminants in the Arctic – impact on climate, health and nature: (10 ECTS). The course is offered by Aarhus University (AU) with teachers from AU and GINR. The course takes place in Nuuk but involve fieldwork outside Nuuk.

Environmental Governance in the Arctic: Policy Processes and the Economic Dimension: (10 ECTS). The course is offered by Aarhus University (AU) with teachers from AU and guest lectures from GINR and government departments in Nuuk. The course takes place in Nuuk.

Mineral resources in the Arctic: Environmental impacts and technologies: (5 ECTS). The course is strictly e-learning.

Modelling contaminants in the Arctic in a changing climate: (10 ECTS). The course is offered by Aarhus University (AU) with teachers from AU and guest lectures from GINR. The course takes place in Nuuk.
