GAEL HAMKE BUGT - YOUNG SUND

New publication by Peter Schmidt Mikkelsen

The Gael Hamke Bugt and the Young Sund areas contain almost all the good that North-East Greenland has to offer: A magnificent nature and a rich wildlife. An exciting and at times dramatic story. Today it is the central and most activity-rich region in the national park. In Daneborg, the celebrated military dogsledge patrol, Sirius, has its headquarters. At the Zackenberg/ Daneborg research stations nature has been researched for more than 25 years, and the climate change has been followed down to the smallest detail.

The book has been titled "GAEL HAMKE BUGT - YOUNG SUND", as it is through these waters and their branches that one enters a land area, measuring approx. 100 x 100 km – or a total of approx. 10,000 km2.

GAEL HAMKE BUGT - YOUNG SUND is the third book in the series: "Discovering North-East Greenland". The book series is for anyone visiting North-East Greenland. It is also for everyone who does not have the opportunity to get up there themselves; but who still wants to get to know the unique north-east Greenlandic nature and the area's unique history.

171 pages. Format: 255 x 300 x 20 mm. Paper: 170 g. Hardback with dust jacket. Languages: Danish / English. More than 250 photos and illustrations.
