Microbial ecology in soil, permafrost, ice and groundwater. Analysis of DNA and RNA nucleic acids directly from these environments.
1) microbial degradation of pesticides, PAH compounds and chlorinated compounds in various soils, glaciers and groundwater aquifers
2) the study of microbial communities in ice and permafrost samples from Greenland,
3) the natural protection of plants by rhisphere microorganism,
4) the study of side effects of pesticides, nitrification inhibitors and ash on soil health.

I advise the Danish EPA as a member of the Pesticide Research Programme.

I advise international organisations on soil health and greenhouse gasses.
