Happy Hour for Early Career Polar Researchers at AU

Including a showing of 2023 Oscar Nominated Short-Documentary: ‘Haulout’

What: An informal happy-hour with some drinks and snacks to allow early career polar researchers and their colleagues from the various groups at Aarhus University to meet, network, and build bridges across institutes. This will be followed by a screening of the Arctic themed short documentary,
‘Haulout’ (25 min) at approximately 6pm in the AIAS auditorium. Film details below.

When: Thurs, March 9, 2023, 5:00 pm.

Film screening at 6:00 pm (or at convenience of attendees)

Who: Any early career polar-related or interested researcher at AU. More senior colleagues and friends are also welcome to attend as your guests. RSVP with attendees to jkerby@bio.au.dk (or via Outlook Invite) so we get a sense of numbers.

Film Information: This 25 minute documentary follows a man waiting in his hut in the desolate expanse of the Russian Arctic. He is holding out in order to observe a natural event that occurs here, every year, but ocean warming is taking its toll. Directed by Evgenia Arbugaeva and Maxim Arbugaev.
